The family business behind the name on the truck
Cook's is a family-owned heating and cooling company with one address, two names customers keep mentioning, and a service area that grew far past where it started.

Start with the address
Cook’s Air Conditioning & Heating Specialists operates from 37 Fairmont Ln, Palm Coast, FL 32137. That is the only address the company has, and it matters more than it sounds. The shop is where the vans are stocked, where new technicians are trained before they’re sent out alone, where the parts inventory lives, and where the dispatch board is. When a market site says a technician is coming from Palm Coast, that’s literal.
The company is family-owned and has been for a long time. We don’t put a year on it, because the point isn’t the number; it’s that the same people have been answering for the work through a lot of Florida summers.
Two names you’ll hear
Read enough reviews and two first names come up again and again.
Jerry is the owner and the person who handles new-system sales. If you’re replacing equipment, he’s the one who’ll sit at your table, size the house, and explain what the Lennox options mean in your particular climate. Customers describe him as not pushy, which is the reputation he’s trying to keep.
Sean is the lead technician. He’s the one on the hard repairs, the coil replacements that take most of a day, and the training of newer techs. Reviews mention that he explains what he did and doesn’t look rushed. That’s the standard the rest of the crew is held to.

Why Lennox, and why that isn’t the whole story
Cook’s is a Lennox dealer. In practice that means the company installs the Lennox line, including the Healthy Climate air-quality products and the Ultimate Comfort System, and has the factory training and access that come with the relationship. We recommend Lennox first because we know how it behaves in salt air, in attics that hit 130 degrees, and through the freeze nights the inland markets get.
It does not mean we only touch Lennox. Carrier, Bryant and Trane systems get repaired and maintained every week, and so does everything else. A dealer that refused to service other brands would be useless to most of the homes in its territory.
How one shop covers 150 miles
The honest answer is: deliberately, and with routes.
Nearby markets, Palm Coast, St. Augustine and Ormond Beach, get same-day flexibility because a van can be there in under forty minutes. The mid-range markets, Palatka, Orange Park and Jacksonville, are scheduled so a technician’s day is spent mostly in one county rather than on I-95. The far markets, Gainesville, Ocala, Lake City and Live Oak, are run as full route days: the truck leaves Palm Coast early and stocked, and the maintenance visits, repairs and estimates for that area are grouped together.
Emergencies cut across all of that. An on-call technician is assigned by region every night, and the no-after-hours-charge rule applies at the far end of the map as much as at the near end.
What we’re careful not to say
We don’t claim to be the biggest, the oldest or the top-ranked anything. We don’t publish a founding year we’d have to defend, a lender’s name for financing, or a local office in a town where there isn’t one. What we will say is that a real person answers, the brand on the truck is backed by the family that owns it, and if the work isn’t right, we come back.
Residential and commercial
Most of the schedule is houses. A meaningful share is businesses: repairs, maintenance contracts and installations of commercial equipment for restaurants, medical offices, churches and shops across the territory. The same office handles both, which is convenient for an owner who lives in one market and runs a business in another.
About the company
Who actually owns Cook's?
A family, and the people in it work in the business every day. Jerry is the owner you’ll meet when you’re buying a system. The office is not a holding company, and nobody is answering the phone from another state.
How many technicians does Cook's have?
Enough to run routes in all ten markets and keep an on-call rotation going overnight. The exact headcount changes as the company hires; the roles we’re hiring for are on the careers page. [[CONFIRM WITH JERRY]]
Is there an office in Jacksonville, Gainesville or Ocala?
No. Every truck is based in Palm Coast. The market sites say so plainly, because a second address we don’t have is the kind of thing a company shouldn’t claim.
Do you work on equipment you didn't install?
Constantly. Most repair calls are on systems another company put in years ago, and the brand doesn’t matter: Lennox, Carrier, Bryant, Trane or anything else with a nameplate.
Want to talk to the people, not a page?
Call. Jerry or the office will pick up.
